The International Booker Prize goes to a novel or short story collection translated into English. The prize aims to celebrate diverse authors, and also the important role of translators, with the prize awarded to both figures.
The 2022 longlist includes works in 11 languages from 12 countries, and is the first to feature a work translated from Hindi.
