Mostly Books staff are joining with hundreds of other Australians in July, doing what we love to raise money for a great cause. Together, we’re celebrating the joy of reading and supporting impactful literacy programs in Cambodia. Led by the dedicated team at Human and Hope Association (HHA) Cambodia, a locally driven community centre, these projects focus on literacy, sewing, and sustainable agriculture.
Last year, their inaugural Chapters for Change readathon raised over $30,000 for educational initiatives, helping improve literacy and break the cycle of poverty for families. They have set a new goal this year of $40,000 and we would love to help them smash that target!
You can sign up as an individual, join our team or just make a tax-deductible donation at the Chapters for Change website. You can also find reading suggestions and more information about the project, including endorsements by their Ambassadors, Danielle Binks and Bebe Oliver.

How it works:
Registrations
Open from mid-May. Participants choose the number of books they wish to read and sign up. The $25 entry fee provides a Cambodian child with a library membership. Participants will also receive a welcome pack in the mail.
Start reading
The readathon starts on July 1st, 2025. Participants can log their books on our website and earn digital badges as they progress.
Make a difference
Participants can actively raise funds for literacy programs using our templates, social media tiles, and more. Bookish incentives and prizes are available to further motivate and reward contributors.
